The CellTrend / Scheibenbogen Autoantibody Test for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)

The CellTrend AutoAntibodyTest

Dr. Carmen Scheibenbogen, a German doctor and researcher, in collaboration with Celltrend - a German lab - have produced an auto-antibody test for ME/CFS which assesses the levels of three auto-antibodies against the b2-adrenergic receptor, the muscarinic cholinergic receptor 3 (M3) and the muscarinic cholinergic receptor 4 (M4).

One study suggests that from 20-30% of ME/CFS patients have elevated levels of these auto-antibodies. Dr. Kaufman recently reported that he's had success using the Celltrend test to determine which patients benefit from Rituximab.
Dr. Scheibenbogen

Through it's Ramsay Awards the Solve ME/CFS Initiative (SMCI) funded Dr. Scheibenbogen's work in 2016 and 2017.

In a small ME/CFS trial Dr. Scheibenbogen found success using a process called Immunoadsorption to reduce the autoantibody levels.
