Brainfog: Not just histamine but BENZOATES?

I've known for a while that I have a histamine sensitivity (all part of the loopy immune system, I'm assuming). What I only recently realised is that I have a massive natural-BENZOATE sensitivity too. If I eat raspberries, redcurrants, pumpkin, along with a host of other super-healthy (mostly red-ripening) foods, I get overwhelming brainfog. If I stop eating them, my brain clears quite a lot. Benzoates are used for all kinds of preservation and in soft drinks too, but I don't consume those anyway.

This has only become obvious after reducing my histamine-load, such that my brainfog had improved just enough to have somewhere to drop to.

This site has a lot of useful information on the matter: https://benzoateintolerancesupport....amon-and-benzoate-free-diet-for-ofg-sufferers/

If anyone has any ideas on if/why that's relevant to ME/CFS, do share! The only thing I can think of at the moment is that benzoates + vitamin C = BENZENE, which isn't good. Perhaps we clear it less well than healthy people.
