The new CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain came down strongly against the use of opioids for chronic pain while acknowledging that few good studies had assessed how effective opioids actually are treating long term pain.

thanks for putting this report together, cort! i tried to read through the CDC's findings, but had trouble wading through it.

i'm frustrated with the part where they state that opioids don't relief chronic pain. i take 60 mg of methadone per day and that's exactly what they do! i do not get high from them and am in no way an addict. just want to scream!
