    Health improves away from home

This phenomena could very well be associated with toxic mold exposure. Some people do sabbaticals to see if it is their house that is the culprit. Going away to a pristine environment may prove to be beneficial... you may not notice it at first, but when you return home there will be a...

HA! My husband is an engineer. I sent him the link -- I am betting that he'll want to run out and build one ASAP. Thanks for finding this!

The Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia Brain Fog Poll

HA!!! That conversation sounds oh so familiar! My husband has learned to speak my language... and now that he's gotten sick too, he's had the same thing happen with words. We are quite the pair, as are you and your daughter! (Dare I ask about the bathroom floor in the night?) Can I just...

Changing Hearts and Minds: A Review of Unrest

Hi @JenB ! My husband and I are avid supporters of your endeavors --- we can't wait to get our copy of Unrest when the time comes for the Kickstarter rewards to roll out. Woohoo!! I saw that it's coming to Boston in October and was hoping maybe we could make it. It would be amazing to get...

Poll The Reverse Bucket List for ME/CFS: If You Were Well.....What Would You Do?

Cades Cove!!! That brings back memories for me too. Summer of 1992 -- cross country camping trip with college friends. We spent a few days in the Smokies and camped in Cades Cove..... The last night we were there I got whuffled by a black bear through the paper thin fabric of the tent...

Interestingly enough, my husband's ear ringing correlates directly to mold/mycotoxin exposure. The closer it is, the louder it gets for him. In fact, he has been able to hone in on hidden sources within our home, multiple times. And this was post-remediation, after it was supposedly "clean"...

Wow - that's really interesting about the ringing ears! My husband has that... but he's noticed that for him it gets "loud" the closer he is to mycotoxins. There seems to be a direct relationship to exposure. That said --- it is intriguing --- because he also is treating for Lyme. He's...

    Too many, too similar

There is a site called diseasemaps.org --- I forgot which acronym they go by in terms of CFS "titles". I think it is combined with ME though. And they do many other diseases as well. Try https://www.diseasemaps.org/chronic-fatigue (I got there from logging in to my account... not sure if...

Yes @Merida -- I also have had Lyme. However --- I was diagnosed with ME/CFS first, was ill for 4 years before getting Lyme on top of that. Luckliy I got a bullseye rash and an acute reaction so I knew that there was something else going on in addition to the ME/CFS. I treated successfully...

    Too many, too similar

As a former geographer I've often wondered what mapping "outbreaks" might reveal --- In conjunction with various environmental toxins, radiation, contamination, what-have-you. I feel like the problem there is that we are limited in getting any accurate headcounts with locations. Last I...

Acupuncture caused me to crash badly

@Kim812 -- I had the same experience back in 2010! A friend raved about this acupuncturist, so I went. This was within the first few months when I became fully incapacitated with ME/CFS. The woman seemed really great, but I'd never been to one before, so didn't know what to expect. I recall...

Ryan, may I ask what the side effect was? I also launched into the CSM as directed by my Shoemaker trained ND. I stepped it up over a few weeks until I was doing the 4 doses a day, plus the extra EPA and DHA oils. However, I've had a hell of a side effect --- it's like hot flashes I guess. I...

"Through the Shadowlands"- Julie Rehmeyer's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Tale of Recovery

Hi Wayne! Thanks for the links-- we have already decided to use Roxul, a mineral wool. My husband (the systems engineer - ha ha) did his own little trade study when he was researching what to use. We haven't installed any yet... hoping to do it soon though. Getting a functional bathroom...

"Through the Shadowlands"- Julie Rehmeyer's Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) Tale of Recovery

I would not say that Julie's story is attempting to define all cases of ME/CFS to be mold. And I would also concur with that -- it may or may not be a factor. Personally, I think it depends on individual genetics, exposure, and perhaps even combinations of (toxic mold with?) chemicals...
