Clonidine was RXed for me at .1mg to take at night due to a recently diagnosed complex dysautonomia.

I’m both curious to try it (since my heart at times pounds away at night) and concerned (since I sense that kicking into sympathetic drive is a compensatory mechanism vital to my body surviving the ravages of ME).

Have any of you taken it? If yes: at what dosage? How did it affect your ME? Did you notice side effects?

I take .2 every night. I haven't noticed a big difference, except that it does help me sleep a little better (and it makes me too groggy to take during the day). I have high blood pressure, though, and I'm not tuned into your concern about needing the sympathetic nervous system to kick in.

Ginevra Liptan lists clonidine as a useful stress blocker for FM, that can be used for sleep alongside other deep-sleep promoters and sedatives -- which I do every night. I do track my pulse during the night (and it's fine), but I don't track blood pressure.
