I started taking d-ribose 5 grams in water once a day in the late morning. I was hoping it would help with PEM. I’m not sure it has helped much with that. But since I began I have had almost normal sleep almost every night. Previous to this my sleep was erratic. Sometimes waking too early at 3, 4 or 5 a.m. not able to go back to sleep. Sometimes difficulty getting to sleep. And sometimes complete sleeplessness until 4 or 5 a.m. It’s been two months now. I can say that this is a rare instance where I have seen something have a direct and consistent result.
I wonder if anyone else has seen this and wondering why this might be working for me… And whether I should up the dose…
