Are there any doctors we know of around the world who have ME ?

There are a good number who had it and some who have it. We know more about the ones who had it and recovered.

  • Dr. Lerner - now deceased - was recovered
  • Dr. Teitelbaum - happened during medical school - recovered
  • Courtney Craig - DC - recovered
  • Dr. Gottfries - Sweden - stunning story - http://www.cortjohnson.org/blog/2015/11/21/gottfries-chronic-fatigue-syndrome-story/
  • There's Dr. Chia's son - who is going to medical school - and will become some sort of doctor
  • Lily Chu MD - her license is extant but I don't know if she is practicing...She's not recovered
  • Dr. Klimas's exercise physiologist - Connie Sol had exercise overtraining syndrome or whatever you call it. She had to stop her athletic activities because of it but I think she's mostly recovered
There are quite a few doctors who have it who are not practicing but I don't know them.

As long as they are not burnout or mental related, primarily, then I can buy it.

Dr Gottfries is pretty interesting for sure...it's a real shame the Sweden may be withdrawing funding for his clinic. I hope everyone signs the petition!

@Hip has lots of information on the staph toxoid vaccine. If anyone is interested, they might check out his thread at PR.

@EYAKLLE, that does sound pretty mean. I, too, am wondering why you asked.

There are two over on phoenix rising, 'Butydoc' and 'Dr Patient'. There's also sergio with a number after his name on PR who is recovering and in medical school, planning to be a doctor helping ME patients somehow.

Was referring to those who say they have ME but they don't as they have been midiagnosed or were wrong about what they had. Unfortunately there may be many of those. With very short term or short term or mid term or long term or very long term post viral fatigue or immune disorder imbalance from that. That is not ME. Well done to them for recovering, curing themselves, substantially improving their health in a short period of time or over a longer period of time or a much longer period of time. Of the names mentionned above I make no comment. I am just talking generally about many many many more people than that. Many many others, thousands, sound like burnout/depression/immune imbalance after a virus /severe chronic fatigue. Not ME.

Thanks Who Me. You were right to ask for one. Internet forum answers can sometimes be unclear I agree when people dont fully explain their thoughts from their mind clearly

Exactly! I know many times I know what's in my head and what I want to say. It doesn't always translate to my post

I'm not sure but maybe Dr. Dantini? I never heard that Dr. Bell had it.
You're right! Dantini had it = this is from a blog I did while at PR.

http://phoenixrising.me/archives/5199

As he relates in his story Dr. Dantini had classic gradual onset FM/CFS. An ear nose and throat specialist and surgeon he slowly got more and more tired. First he put a couch in his office so he could take naps. Then he began getting headaches, night sweats and irritable bowel symptoms and his muscles and joints felt heavy, weak and painful. The worst for him, though, was the exhaustion. He tested positive for herpesviruses and six months of high dose antivirals and watching his food allergies left him healthy again.

Now he runs an ear nose and throat and FM/CFS clinic. His treatment protocol consists mostly of antivirals and allergy treatments. His website states his fibromyalgia protocol doesn?t work for everybody but has an 80% ‘success rate’.

I forgot about Dr. Lenny Jason as well - how could I forget about him....

So we have doctors who had it and then recovered. Plus there are some researchers or past researchers....Vance Spence and Staci Stevens

  • There's Dr. Chia's son - who is going to medical school - and will become some sort of doctor
  • Lily Chu MD - her license is extant but I don't know if she is practicing...She's not recovered
  • Courtney Craig - DC - recovered

  • Dr. Klimas's exercise physiologist - Connie Sol had exercise overtraining syndrome or whatever you call it. She had to stop her athletic activities because of it but I think she's mostly recovered
  • Dr. Charles Shepherd - UK ME Association
  • Dr Vance Spence - Chairman and Founder of MERUK
  • Staci Stevens - Exercise physiologist - developer of the Stevens Protocol for exercise testing - disability tester - Workwell
  • Dr. Teitelbaum - happened during medical school - recovered
