Histamine and gastric acid, betaine

I've struggled with brainfog for a long time - and found it was closely connected with histamine. I removed histamine from my diet as far as possible - it helped a lot, but was not a great diet.

So, then I learned that histamine was a signaller for gastric acid - and my gastric acid production was very poor. Whenever I ate - or even thought about eating - perhaps my gut would be churning out histamine to try to get gastric acid produced. (I also have appalling results on PEG4000 - permeable gut, so possibly connected.)

Next step, then: Betaine hydrochloride, to help with acid production. I started taking it with every meal - and the histamine hugely reduced, brainfog hugely reduced, facial puffiness hugely reduced.

I'm hoping this will help my gut heal, too, as protein is actually being digested. Then maybe my gut will produce its own HCI.

Any thoughts on this?
