Meclizine

I noticed when I took meclizine for motion sickness, my muscles felt more relaxed. I take a lot of hydroxyzine for allergies, so it's not the antihistamine effect. I know meclizine is used to potentiate opiods, so maybe there's some connection between the vestibular centers of the brain, and pain? A google search didn't turn up much.

I'd be curious if anyone has used it.

That's interesting.

Meclizine though is a very safe drug imo. And it seems to help the dizzy feeling that some elderly have with dementia - which is also made worse by opioids given to the elderly. I took care of an elderly woman recently while she was transferring from one place to another, and getting off of some unnecessary drugs. Meclizine had a very good effect on her, helping her walk more steadily.

What effect of opiates does meclizine supposedly "potentiate"? I haven't heard of anything like that.
