Medical Marijuana

I wish I could take medical cannabis, but it is illegal here in the UK. I've read so many positive posts....wishful thinking at the moment.

Yeah, it's not legal everywhere in the US either. Some of us, though, have been willing to live with the risks after seeing its dramatic impact on chronic illness. We seem to be moving gradually toward more universal legality here. It would be great to feel more free to openly discuss this self-medication with one's doctors.

it is also said to be a very effective treatment for nausea.

It is possible to prescribe almost anything in the UK on a "named patient" (see below) basis - but finding a doctor prepared to do so is difficult. There is even a product that can be supplied -see http://www.release.org.uk/law/uks-law-medical-cannabis

" Some medications can be prescribed on a "named-patient" basis. This means that, in certain circumstances, your doctor can prescribe this medication because the patient has a special need for the medication.
Reasons why drugs may be supplied on a named-patient basis are:
• A license has not been granted yet due to ongoing clinical trials
• Discontinuations
• Drug shortages
• Temporary supply problems
• Clinical trials
• Special needs of an individual patient"
