Slowly increasing resistance to anti-virals Valtrex and Famvir?

I've been on increasing doses of Valtrex for recurring HSV1 over the last 10 years with ME. The meds really help give me quality of life. I'm aware though that I have to gradually keep increasing my dose to get the same effects. I now take 1.5g Famvir and 500 Valtrex daily. Has anyone any experience or suggestions about this please?

Does your doctor recommended you to increase your dosage intake?

Valtrex stops the replication of the virus in the body by preventing DNA replication. However it doesn't stop cell division and the infected cells are immortalized so they would have longer lifespans. So the total number of infected cells could still be increasing every time the cells divide which is why you would need more of the drug.

Are you concurrently noticing the severity of the fatigue and other symptoms increasing?
