This basically says tenofovir in a gel form is active against hhv2. This would probably then be effective for other herpes infections or orally for systemic herpes infections from hhv1/2 to ebv/cmv/hhv6.
So its possible tenofovir not only treats retrovirus but other herpes coinfections. It is already used to treat hepatitis.
So interesting. If i or anyone else finds interesting research similar to this please post.
