A New York Times article on a young woman with a mysterious vomiting issue is seeking a diagnosis. It took awhile but one of her diagnoses is POTS but POTS treatments did not help much. She's also been diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).

She's been ill for 3 years, is now 17, is weak, has shoulder and neck pain and is very inactive. She vomits 3-4 times a day and has to swallow her regurgitated food to keep her weight up. The only thing that helps is intravenous solution. She sounds like an atypical ME/CFS case to me. Her illness probably started with food poisoning in Costa Rica.

The New York Times is asking for help with a diagnosis.
