Iron Man: A Young Person's POTS ME/CFS Recovery Story Pt. I

@Issie My final discovery in trying to eliminate all sources was the corn starch in my thyroid preparation. When I quit, the persistent sores I'd been experiencing finally resolved.

Iron Man: A Young Person's POTS ME/CFS Recovery Story Pt. I

I've been no-grain for several years now. Works great for me. Luckily I'm not a social eater, that is, I don't socialize. That would be hard. You might be interested in these pieces about gluten cross-reactivity. Removing gluten relieved my terrible neurological symptoms by about 50% (a guess.)...

Iron Man: A Young Person's POTS ME/CFS Recovery Story Pt. I

Natasha Campbell-McBride, who developed GAPS diet, says bacteria eat out iron. The year before I switched to GAPS diet, my worst year, I took many courses of Floradix iron, a very bioavailable form. My iron levels kept returning low. Clearly the critters were eating it, not my body.

    The Benefits of Berberine

I didn't do anything particular for prep. The prep, as I recall, is consistent w/ my day-to-day lifestyle. And I use coffee enemas rahter than another form of bowel cleanse, laxative.

    The Benefits of Berberine

Also, my Candida protocol this year I didn't use these substances I used last year. Instead I used pine oil (turpentine, pure oil). Came out far cheaper. It's a broad spectrum substance. Here's the protocol, from the doctor who's been using it for about 20 years...

    The Benefits of Berberine

Yes, cycling. In addition to those you mention, I also used 10-Undecenoic Acid (Thorne Research, Formula SF722,) and Grapefruit Seed extract. Neem is another possibility.

    The Benefits of Berberine

Berberine can be toxic to liver. Short term is probably fine, I've used it that way.

    Other People

I'm thankful that I've always tended toward introversion. I live in my own space now, shared w/ 2 cats. My personal interactions are extremely limited, and pretty much on my terms: 10 minutes is plenty. I've come to embrace invisibility.

Fall Asleep Easier with the Cognitive Shuffle

That's what I've been doing. Lately starting in the middle of the alphabet, so I don't get into repeating the same string of words.

Fall Asleep Easier with the Cognitive Shuffle

My mind these days grabs onto whatever tv drama or novel I've been reading, wants to understand every nuance. I get focused on following the thoughts/story to the end, but mind then, of course, wants more. So I've started doing this trick. I've been starting alphabetically, just thinking of...

Fall Asleep Easier with the Cognitive Shuffle

What to do when your mind won't stop, and you need to sleep? Although I no longer have insomnia, there are times when my mind will not quiet. After all the things I've tried over the years, I've found this simple tip really helpful. Derail your train of thoughts by introducing random words...

The Blood Volume Paradox in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and POTS

This is a timely discussion for me. I've just been contemplating ways of increasing blood volume. I don't seem to handle extra salt, doesn't take much for me to experience swelling. I've been thinking I'd try licorice again. It worked well for me for a couple years, but then also caused edema...

Are You A Morning Or Evening Person? An ME/CFS and Fibromylagia Poll

I'm best in AM, always have been. But I tend to have another boost around 2-3PM. My POTS-lite is worse in evening.
