From the Mindfulness Summit

Vidyamala Burch has lived for decades with chronic pain resulting from spinal injuries. Not only does she recognise how this affects people physically, but she knows of the mental struggles that it tends to induce too. After learning how to use mindfulness to reduce her pain and suffering, she wanted to teach others how to use it as well. Vidyamala is now an internationally known meditation teacher, and author of the book ‘Living Well with Pain and Illness’. Today, you’ll be able to learn from her and also experience a long ‘body scan’ meditation practice. You can listen to Vidyamala here now.

Have you used mindfulness for pain reduction and/or alleviation of suffering? Tell us about it on Facebook - it’s where we’re all discussing the Summit :)

Do you know someone who suffers from chronic pain who could benefit from today's summit session? Share it with them via email, Facebook, or Twitter.

Today’s daily challenge is actually an educational one. We’d like you to head over to Shamash’s website to listen to one of his podcasts; he has one podcast with Vidyamala, but you can also listen to podcasts from a number of other mindfulness professionals, including Steven Hayes and Daniel Siegel.
