Need help: Finding a HR monitor

What features did you look for in yours?

What should one expect to pay Or what did you pay?

What accessories do I need? Chest strap?

Best place to buy? Health sites? Amazon? In person store?

Any resources which cover this? I've looked and I'm mostly finding stuff for runners and athletes- not exactly my crowd!

I have both a Zephry and a Polar Bluetooth monitor with chest strap. It all comes together. They work exactly the same.

Zephyr has amazing customer service. But I've never had any problems needing customer service with the Polar.

They were both around $50-60 on Amazon for my iPhone.

The difference is usually in the app that interprets the results. The chest strap is just measuring and reporting.

After changing the battery in the Polar strap for the first time, I can say it is decidedly harder than with the Zephyr strap. It's a much more delicate and fiddley operation with the Polar.
