Pineal Gland Cyst

Hi all

I've newly been diagnosed with CFS/M.E. During diagnosis I had blood tests and an MRI. The blood tests came back normal and so did the MRI.

They did find an incidental pineal gland cyst. I only found this out through requesting the results directly from the hospital. But these results haven't been explained by the specialist I saw. I'm not due to see the specialist again and I cannot contact them. I just wondered if anyone else has any experience with these cysts?

I know it's probably nothing but I just want to be sure that this cyst isn't having an affect on my symptoms and doesn't need to be removed or treated.

Thanks
X

As far as I know pineal gland cysts smaller than 0.5 cm are relatively common, and don't pose any danger. When I had MRI, mine was bigger than 2 cm and they removed it immediately. I didn't notice any change in symptoms, but my ME/CFS was progressively worse from day 1, and I am severe now.

Thanks so much for your reply!
They've come back to me saying it's nothing to worry about but thought it was worth checking!
I hope you can find something to make things easier but I'm sure you've tried so much already!
