The High Dose B1/Thiamine Survey?

Was this survey ever conducted? I am currently interested in the thiamine deficiency angle.

I came across the following in an article:
As the possible pathogenic factor of impaired glucose metabolism, altered thiamine metabolism should precede the alterations of brain glucose metabolism and subsequent cognitive deficits.

What hits me is the "impaired glucose metabolism" that comes up time and time again.
I have said for years that when I have exceeded my energy envelope or I am experiencing PEM my brain feels "dehydrated," but maybe starved is a better word both literally and figuratively.

I took high dose B1 soon after Cort's article. I took 1000 mg and had a response after 3 days, the morning of the 3rd day I awoke calm and feeling rested, it helped conciderably for about 2 months then stopped working. I've since retried it a couple of times to no avail. I've got ME.

I have an article found at solace nutrition.com by Bruce Cohen, pediiatric neurologist and mito specialist, and Gold.
" Mitochondrial Cytopathy in Adults : What We Know So Far." ( in Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, July 2001. Vol. 68 (7)

The authors included specific supplements, vitamins, and dosage. Here they are:
Coenzyme Q10 5-15 mg/kg in divided doses
L- carnitine. 30-100 mg/kg in divided doses
Thiamine. 100-800 mg
Riboflavin (B2). 400 mg
Niacinamide(B3). 100-500mg Avoid niacin form which can cause flushing
Folate 1-10 mg
Vitamin E. 400-1200 IU divided doses ( may interfere with CoQ10 absorption)
Selenium. 25-50 micrograms
Lipoic acid. 200-600 mg. in divided doses

Prednisone 5-60 mg. ( use sparingly, withdrawal can lead to symptom recurrence)

Isn't that something. That pattern - something works and then just stops working - does seem rather ME'ey

Impaired glucose metabolism - glycolysis - sounds very much like what Naviaux found isn't it? I should know - I wrote the blog (lol) - but I don't remember.
