Younger - Neuroinflammation - brainscanning

So, Jared Younger is pushing to develop a way to measure neuroinflammation. I'm actually astonished this doesn't exist yet!
Question 1:
I had to have CAT and MRI brain scans recently to find the cause of some nasal pain/facial neuralgia. They didn't find anything, probably because inflammation was the cause. But I'm wondering - could my scans be used to discern inflammation? What would I ask doctors to look at? Or, is there someone else competent to look at them for this? (I'm in UK)
Question 2:
Given that all doctors seem able to parrot the line that inflammation is the greatest cause of western disease now, how is it that they all seem to be utterly clueless about it? And I mean all body inflammation, not just neuro.
