James Coyne: No to video gaming treatment research!

Ok. I will read the post and the interview more thoroughly. If I was prescribed active video gaming as treatment, I would definitely feel infantilized. Worse -- if I was required to engage in active video gaming I would, within fifteen minutes, die of boredom.

James Coyne: No to video gaming treatment research!

I went back and checked James Coyne's blog post and Sasha Nimmo's interview with the principal investigator, Katia Ferrar, and the clinical trial of active video gaming as treatment is for adults. Esther Crawley's online CBT treatment study is for adolescents.

Dr. Ron Davis presents findings at Invest in ME 2016 conference

The doctor who diagnosed me with CFIDS in 1990 prescribed an amino acid powder based on lab results. I got the powder from him; I don't know where he had it made. I'm sorry to say that I didn't see any benefit from the powder, and I found it very difficult to ingest (one time trying to swallow...

The distillery is in Kentucky, so I guess the "11:59 pm" is Eastern Standard Time. Oh wait. Part of Kentucky is Eastern Time and part Central. I need more information. Edit: The distillery is Frankfort, Ky, which is in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

Sorry to put you on the spot. I obviously have too much time on my hands. You are a good sport, @bobby.

James Coyne: No to video gaming treatment research!

Thank you, @bobby, for looking up and posting information. I was aware of the coercion of parents to see that their children followed prescribed treatments. But I had not heard about coercion to participate in research. I'm not saying that it hasn't happened or isn't happening (I have...

James Coyne: No to video gaming treatment research!

I'm trying to remember what ME/CFS research has been done on children in the UK. I see that a study on the Lightning Process as treatment for young people was published in 2003. Was this in the UK? Another study, SMILE, is going on right now at Bristol University. Can someone point me to...

James Coyne: No to video gaming treatment research!

If patients are coerced into participating in research, doesn't that undercut the validity of the results and call into question the ethics of the researchers and the clinicians?
