Poll Is the Planning Ahead "Muscle" Broken with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Fibromyalgia

This is me also. Everybody I keep in my life understands that all socializing "plans" are hopeful tentatives. And by socializing, I mean going next door to hang out with my neighbor, or someone coming over for a maximum of 2 hours. I've completely simplified my home life, so the only list...

5 Genes Predict What Kind of Diet and Exercise is Best For Your Body?

This was fun! I was also missing rs1799883, so I followed all of the possibilities below it. I either lose weight on any diet, or lose 2.5x weight on a low fat diet. I do lose weight when I eat low carb, but only if I'm also careful about fats. And I can eat quite a lot of carbohydrate if I...

Do you meditate? TM or MF?

IMHO meditation is mind-training. As we learn to hold ourselves in a silent space while our thoughts whirl around, we experience that we are not our thoughts. This is the beginning of profound changes. You want to choose a form of meditation that you will actually do. You might experiment...

Fibromyalgia Immune Blood Test Going Mainstream?

My doctor OK'd this test for me! In fact he's pretty excited about it. I should get it on Saturday and do the blood draw on Monday. Then it's 7 working days to results, which are mailed to the doctor.

    Small Wins!

I bought a book of stretches about 6 months ago and finally felt up to trying it a week ago. I can do it! I do a short section at a time, maybe 4 times a day, and it feels great.

    Raw Food Dilemma

Some people have to start with very small amounts, like a tablespoon with each meal. You might also notice that bloating happens with only certain bacterial cultures, or only certain vegetables.

I wish they would do this for all the people in this country who don't have $80,000 lying around. Hmmm........maybe online pharmacies will save the day.

Resource An Overview of Pacing and the Energy Envelope Hypothesis

I've never used a HR monitor. I'm liking the idea of wrist models. If anybody has specific recommendations, please share them. I saw that Iris wasn't sure about her daughter's model. I have insomnia, and am interested in the sleep tracking also, if anybody knows about that. I don't have a...

    Sinus Problems

My 2 cents is that it's worth going off dairy completely for a month with any kind of ENT congestion or swelling issue. Because it's not a medical intervention, you don't need a doctor, and it only takes a month. As soon as do the heavy dairy test day, you'll know if it's a piece of your...

Should I or Shouldn't I? The Chronic Illness Dilemma Poll

I've found my balance point, so the suggestions aren't dilemmas for me. I lost all of my support groups except for my own children and 3 friends many years ago, so over-socializing isn't a problem. I'm solitary by nature, and when I want to be around people I go read at a bookstore or library...
