Could Donald Trump Be Good For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia?

I've been struggling to find some understanding (and hope, frankly) out of sentiments, like yours, that exhibit such a limited interest in factuality. I want to resist sweeping conclusions about all Trump supporters; e.g., that your comfort with putting a bar-stool-type blowhard in charge of our...

Could Donald Trump Be Good For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia?

I see Trump has already abandoned his populist pledge to drive down drug prices. After meeting with pharmaceutical execs he declared he was opposed to "price fixing."

Could Donald Trump Be Good For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia?

I can sympathize with your feelings; however some of us firmly believe the country allowed a proven despicable human being to take the reins, so our feelings are quite strong as well. I could list a hundred things the man has already said and done that make him unfit for the office. Re drugs...

Could Donald Trump Be Good For Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia?

That's pretty funny. We could start with the President himself who led the nasty, racist birther conspiracy movement, then move on down the list of his cronies at Breitbart and InfoWars who trashed Obama with nonstop lies. And then there's the entire GOP who decided to obstruct everything he...

    Cannabidiol Alleviates Anxiety.

Apparently the strain matters a lot -- at least when it comes to marijuana (I don't know much about CBD) -- but it sounds like you already looked into that. Nothing has been better for my neuropathy-related pains, and for sleep, than a small amount of indica before bed.

    Does Picamilon Cause Withdrawal?

I've used it some (picamilon) -- but its effects are complex, and cycling is recommended (I suppose for the same reasons as phenibut). The "sedative" stage only lasts about an hour, and then you get a few hours of "focus" (somewhat stimulative). So I've stayed away from larger doses and haven't...

    Cannabidiol Alleviates Anxiety.

This confused me -- but I think it's really the opposite: cannabidiol inhibits the deactivation of anandamide, right? Cannabis, in general, contains some of the best medicines in the world that we know of -- especially for our family of diseases. IMO.

    Supplement Constipation from supplements

TMI! (But I'll try it next time I'm constipated.) I also use psyllium religiously. I like this one. It's possible some of the supplements themselves may be contributing to the constipation in a paradoxical manner. Could take some experimentation.

    Inhibit Lactate Dehydrogenase?

That's a good question. And a good list. I'll have to return to some of these herbs with a focus on tracking lactate-type reactions. Rhodiola, guarana, etc. Trouble is, many have other roles that are pretty powerful (e.g. St John's Wart) so pinpointing effects on lactate could be messy business...

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

A quick update. I've been taking the pirenzepine for just a few days (50 mg, twice a day) so it's too early to say whether any impact is from a placebo effect, although my irritable bowels seem better than usual. I did contact the lead researcher on the upcoming trials, Paul Fernyhough (see...

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

Yes, and of course we're making plenty of speculations along the way. But with so little research targeting our area we can't always wait for others to see if certain puzzle pieces fit. Thanks for the Soreq link. More clues. If the pirenzepine doesn't fix me I'll try splicing RNA myself...

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

Thanks for this AquaFit. I have quickly come to think of you as an acetylcholine expert around here. Yeah, I've done enough research and experimentation to get a taste of how complex these systems are. Even the terms "agonist" and "antagonist" can get pretty confusing because of paradoxical...

What do you do when you have emotional mini-meltdowns?

She was a bit tricky for me to get into, as she seemed to be promoting a sort of self-blame -- which felt to me disempowering (whether in a political or personal sense). But I started to appreciate where she was coming from near the end when she questioned whether one's bitter disappointment in...

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

I see they've already announced a three-phase drug trial for this. The researchers are excited, saying this is the first time, as far as they know, that they've actually seen regrowth of damage in neuropathy cases. HIV-, diabetes-, and chemically-caused peripheral neuropathies are the target...

    Fasciculations/Vibrations

Good luck. I've heard that not everyone's EMGs are so bad. Me, I think partly I just wasn't expecting the sensations to be so deep and acute. Took me by surprise. But I'm glad I did it, mostly, as you point out, because it helps other physicians latch onto something. Also the asymmetrical...

    Fasciculations/Vibrations

Yes, the EMG, which was definitely one of the most unpleasant procedures I've been through. Maybe my neurologist was taking his time, though, doing extra probing, because, he said, I had a bunch of weird asymmetries. After ruling out the low-hanging potential causes (like diabetes) he declared...

    Fasciculations/Vibrations

I get a range of similar symptoms -- all confirmed by nerve conduction studies (I forget the name at the moment -- the kind where they stick all the electrical needles into your muscles?). My neurologist never used the term myokimia -- just peripheral, small-fiber, and autonomic neuropathies. My...

Francis Collin To Stay On - At Least for Now

Hope it's permanent. Seems the administration is way behind filling positions, so they may just be waiting to get their collective head above water before finding that perfect anti-science billionaire. Maybe one of those ex-tobacco executives?

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

I'd like to experiment on myself. First step is to eliminate acetylcholine supplementation. But the tough part will be getting my hands on some pirenzepine (or equivalent). BTW, while trying to determine how greatly ALCAR promoted acetylcholine I stumbled across this Phoenix Rising thread and...

Who doesn't benefit from acetylcholine supplements?

An intriguing new study finds that blockading acetylcholine activity can reverse mitochondrial dysfunction and promote nerve repair. I take acetylcholine supplements purely on faith, since they're generally considered important for ME treatment. But I've only been able to take small doses...
