Health Rising Does Not Provide Medical Information
It is important to note that Health Rising is not run by medical professionals and does not purport to treat or diagnose any disease. Health Rising is simply an information resource put together almost entirely by laymen. Please contact your medical professional before using any information on Health Rising to alter how you are diagnosed, or cope with your illness or are treated.
Automatic Information Retrieval
Health Rising, like virtually every website automatically collects certain information when you go to a page on it’s website. That information includes the website page you came to Health Rising from, your country of origin, what kind of machine you are using (computer, smartphone, etc.), what kind of browser you are using, how long you stay on the website, what links you click on, etc.
This data is completely anonymized and is presented to Health Rising in its WordPress and Google analytics programs in aggregate; i.e. it will state that so many people from the U.K. visited this page at this time and spent an average of X minutes on it. Health Rising uses this information to help determine how effective it is at outreach, the subject content of future blogs, etc.
The only way to ensure that Health Rising does not receive this information is to not access the website.

Subscribers to Our Blogs – Health Rising receives the email addresses of our blog subscribers. That information is then shared with our email provider (currently Mad Mimi). Our email provider does not have our permission to share any of that data with others. If you would like to unsubscribe from the blog you can do so using the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the page. If you have any problems please contact Health Rising.
Blog and Forum Polls and Surveys: Health Rising occasionally includes surveys and polls in its blogs and Forum. The data gathered from the surveys and polls is aggregated and the aggregated data is presented to the public. No personal data is ever shared with the public.
Comments on Blogs: When you leave a comment on a blog Health Rising automatically receives your email address and IP address and sometimes a website address. Health Rising uses this data when needed to stop spammers, to communicate with someone HR might work with in the future or who could provide helpful information to Health Rising. In rare situations if someone wants to contact someone leaving a comment, HR contacts the person who left the comment and asks them if they want to be reached.
Donors: Health Rising receives an email address from all donors and sometimes a physical address. Health Rising uses email and physical addresses to thank the donors and to occasionally send them progress reports on projects.
Health Rising uses Paypal to process donations and does not receive any credit card information. When Health Rising receives checks it receives banking information.Health Rising does not sell or share any type of donor information with other entities.
Forum Members: Health Rising receives email and IP addresses of all Forum members. It also collects any other information that a Forum member wishes to provide vis a vis their illness, age, birth date, treatments. That information is publicly available. If you don’t want that information to be public please go to your account and remove it.
Health Rising uses email and IP addresses to assess to the suitability of prospective Forum members and to contact Forum members regarding posts. We may also contact Forums members regarding changes to the Forums and opportunities to participate in other Health Rising activities. Forum members have the ability to opt out of any emails from Health Rising.
Affiliates – Health Rising is affiliated with Amazon.com, Prohealth and occasionally with Health Online Talks and may become affiliated with others in the future.. Health Rising does not receive any personal information from our affiliates. Please contact them regarding any questions about how your personal information is stored and used.
