Cytokines have been like a mirage in the desert for ME/CFS. These powerful immune factors seem like they must play a major role in this disease, but as soon as researchers have closed in on them, they’ve always seemed to slip away.
A recent major review from the U.K. may change that, though. The reviewers emphatically stated that inflammatory cytokinesare elevated in ME/CFS, and challenged the researchers to do the kind of big and comprehensive studies – which could lead to readily available treatments.
