Many people don’t even know they have it. Others suffer from diarrhea for a couple of days and that’s it. Researchers are learning, though, that a select few can remain ill for years, even decades.
The big medical websites that say Giardia infections are relatively mild and usually easily treated have been ignoring the string of studies coming out of Norway suggesting that even this minor infection can have devastating effects in the wrong person.
